Probably the best sci-fi coming of age manga ever
brought over to North America. Its intrucate universe
with involving characters will leave the reader
spellbound. Even the anime version of this popular
comic will leave the viewer with the opinion of 'hey,
that's probably one of the best dam cartoons I've ever
seen.'
Originally published as Gunnm (literally meaning Gun
Dream) by Shueisha Inc. in Japan, Yukito Kishiro's
amazing series was brought over to North America under
the title of 'Battle Angel Alita.' the story begins
when Doctor Daisuke Ido finds Alita's remains in a dump.
Having no memory of her past, she makes a new life
while trying to remember her old one.
Yukito Kishiro is a master of his craft. A perfect writer and even a better artist, he'll bring you on a journey you never thought possible, in worlds often violent and dark but always thought provoking.
